RAF Caribbean Aces of WWII

During the First World War, 306 British and Commonwealth soldiers were executed for desertion and other capital offences. One of them was Herbert Morris, just 17 years old. On Parade visited the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire and travelled to the Poperinge Death Cells in Belgium to learn more.

A conversation with her terminally ill father about the war years changed Maureen Dickson’s life. Now an oral historian, she documents the experiences of Caribbean ex-servicemen, preserving their stories for future generations. On Parade met her at the Spitfire, Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar.

London College of Music COLLABORATES WITH ON PARADE

On Parade went to the University of West London to interview Dr Cathy Sloan, Senior Lecturer in Applied and Socially Conscious Theatre, and Greg Smith, Lecturer in Music Technology.  the London College of Music (LCM).

Inspired by an On Parade episode, 'Spinning The Decks' with Under the Sun DJ Jamie Micklefield, Cathy and Greg are now pioneering two music courses for veterans at the London College of Music (LCM).
